Organise on Thursday 26 March 2026 Socires and Noaber a symposium on meaning and mental resilience: Meaningful Life.
Why this afternoon?
Mental health is not only about resilience, but also about direction, meaning and connection. Sense is a current social and policy theme, but we do not have much language, time and tools. This is particularly urgent for children and young people: They grow up in a world full of options and pressures, while the conversation about "who do I want to be?" Undersnowing.
What's in it for you?
You're going home with:
- Clear language to make sense discussable (in your work, organisation or policy);
- Insights from research and practice: what works, and what doesn't;
- Concrete ideas for follow-up: what is needed to restore meaning and humanity - especially for children and young people;
- New meetings: a unique mix of professionals, pioneers, researchers and policy makers - dreamers and doers.
Who you hear (and why)
We hear perspectives that deepen the debate on mental health and meaning, including keynotes of:
Floory Scheepers
Psychiatrist, Professor of Innovation in the GGZ at UMC Utrecht and member of the Council for Health and Society. She co-wrote the report. To the Rem! Beyond the hypertensive society.
Timothy Stacey
Chief Professor of Religious Religion and Humanism at the University of Humanistics. He investigates how meaning arises in liberal society, and the role of rituals, symbols and myths in it.
