The power of connectedness: Perspectives in a network society is a vision document for the anniversary congress of the Christian Social Congress in 2016 led by Socires-founder and chairman of the Jos van Gennip Vision Committee. The collection also contains "a short history about Christian-Social Congresses, Christian-Social Conferences and the Christian-Social Congress Foundation," written by Piet Hazenbosch. The aim of the vision is that there is too much thought nowadays from an individualism rather than community sense. It is the "social issue" to "recognize and give words to the power of connectedness."
The chapters written by rapporteur Jan Prij are interspersed with short interviews by—co-rapporteur—Hans Groen with people who are somehow socially involved. Both rapporteurs were in close dialogue and cooperation with Cor van Beuningen, then Director of Socires, and received cooperation from many others including in particular Prof. Erik Borgman, Hans Bruning, Prof. Dr. Govert Buijs, ds. Petra van der Burg, Jan Gruiters, Dr. Herman Kaiser and Astrid Rijbroek.
