African food systems and the EU Farm to Fork Strategy: (un)intended impacts?
On Tuesday 30 November 2021, a Vijverberg session was organised virtually by foodFIRST and ECDPM. This was the second session in our series on the external effects of the EU Farm to Fork (F2F) strategy This policy dialogue aimed to discuss the implications on African food systems, food security and small farmers. In view of the interconnectedness of trade and food systems on both continents, a discussion was held on the (unintended) external effects of the F2F Strategy for Africa and the possible policy responses to it. Speakers for this session were Koen DekeyserECDPM and Professor Ken Giller, renowned agro-ecologist and Professor of Plant Production Systems at WaCASA (Wageningen Centre for Agroecology and Systems Analysis).
