In collaboration with KINO Rotterdam presents Socires from May 14th a new series called KINOsofie. KINOsofie is an iNot applicable Socires and KINO Rotterdam. Theis a film series about the impact of technology on our lives. Every film screening is introduced by a leading thinker who invites us to watch, reflect and discuss the future of society and the role of technology.

The reason for this film series is the (to be published) bundle 'Technic in images: thinking about film'. InThe collection contains fifteen essays by well-known philosophers, aimed at making large (life) questions accessible for discussion regarding new information technology developments and applications. Themes of the essays range from the effects of smartphone addiction to autonomous AI. More information about this bundle can be found on our website soon.
There will be performances in the months of May, June, October, November and December on every second Wednesday of the month. This week KINOsofie will start with the film Past Lives (2023) on Wednesday 14 May. The film is introduced by philosopher Marli Huijer, former Denker des Vaderlands.
