With the forthcoming Parliamentary elections of 29 October in prospect, organizes Socires four closed talks on the state of Dutch democracy.
Worldwide we see a decline in the democratic content of countries. In the Netherlands, too, authoritative reports have been warning about the restrictions and problems of the democratic rule of law in the Netherlands for years. Despite this, the pressure on democracy seems to be increasing and reforms are not in place. Apparently the analyses do not provide enough momentum to answer the fundamental questions surrounding autocratization. That's why we ask the question: What future is there for democracy in the Netherlands?
