Socires took note with sadness of the death of Bas Westerweel at a much too young age. Around 2021, we were able to collaborate briefly but very intensively with Bas on the organisation of the Schaepman commemoration in Tubbergen, organized by the coronavirus. Instead of the planned speeches and conference, Bas produced an impressive film about the liberation and prospects of Tubbergen 75 years earlier. In a fine and almost poetic way Bas combined images of that liberation himself with statements of still living witnesses. But above all he confronted them with the images and hopes of the youngest generation in this church. Destroy, hope and sense of reality went hand in hand. And with the then mayor Wilmien Haverkamp, Bas made a touching connection with the great Tubbergenaar Dr. Herman Schaepman, with throughout that broadcast the hidden but clear message that we as citizens of the 21^e The task of the century is to preserve both the creation and the care of our fellow human beings.

The much watched documentary shows Bas' special talent that he could visualize a complicated message in an appealing and so intuitive way.
For example, what was an occasion documentary, became a monument to the history and expectations of the people in Tubbergen.

This result could also be achieved only by cooperation between the contractor Bas Westerweel and Socires as a client was cordial and full of mutual understanding.
