On 23 January 2025 the third and last meeting of the Socires Young Leaders in Ecology program 2024-2025. We were thinking about 'Soul hindered, the third dimension of Integral Ecology, besides climate ('Soil') and society ('Society'). What's gotten into us to act? Does that have to do with spirituality, faith, mystery, complexity or anything else?
NRC journalist Wouter van Noort shared his personal experiences and talked to the participants about his search for symbiotic journalism. He showed with beautiful examples from daily life how surprising and enriching the world can be, as long as we have an eye: from the smallest lichens to the furthest galaxies. The most unexpected things can inspire us. And as complex as the world is, even the little things we do matter. With environmental philosopher and scientific researcher Integral Ecology Gerard Kuperus we finished the program and looked back at the concept Integral Ecology.
It was a special series of meetings. There have been nice conversations on sometimes very personal subjects. We look forward to the next cycle!
