With Ziningeld, a new conversation manual for the administration and church councils of religious communities appears. The manual helps them check their own money management against the values the community stands for. Socires is from the program Integral Ecology Development.
Faith communities speak out about stewardship, solidarity and care for creation. Whether these values also come back to the way money is handled is rarely mentioned in practice. Financial management often lies with a small group of people, and the conversation about it is usually about budgets and figures. Zingeld wants to make that gap between what a community considers important and what it actually does discussable. The starting point is that insight comes from dialogue.

Integral Ecology in practice
The programme Integral Ecology of Socires builds on the encyclical Laudato Siūn (2015) by Pope Francis. In it he calls for an ecological conversion, a change in behaviour, lifestyle and thinking. Zingeld translates that call to a concrete and often underexplored area: the finances of our own community.
