Friday, October 17th was the festive book presentation of the book "Overview" with Jos van Gennip"Societeit de Witte in The Hague." 'Omzien' was published by Publisher Prometheus and was co-written on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Socires. Jos van Gennip is the founder of Socires. The book is an inspiration for a new generation of thinkers at many organizations.

'Surrounded' comes from a series of conversations between Aukje van Roessel and Jos van Gennip. The result is a visual narrative in which both the long look and the uncomfortable demand continue to return. Where are the structures of attention, care and responsibility in our modern society? Where do we humanize ourselves and each other? How does the Netherlands again take responsibility for a stable world order - with an eye for the poor and the weak?

After a welcome speech from director Kees Buitendijk, former Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin spoke about his years of collaboration and friendship with Jos van Gennip. Then Aukje van Roessel and Jos van Gennip went in conversation led by colleague David Oldenhof. It became a reflection on the last year in which the book was created and a dialogue on the many conversations that preceded it.
