23 August 2022 — The message of Hans Groen's sudden death brought us back with a blow to the creation of our study and consultation centre. Socires. Socires should Socires Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I should like to say that we have not been able to do so without the commitment of Hans Groen and we owe him a great deal. It was enriching and especially encouraging to have been allowed to work with him.

Socires organised its first on 27 June 2022 Socires-lecture at the House of Europe in The Hague. Professor Haroon Sheikh of the Scientific Board of Government Policy (WRR) gave the lecture followed by a dialogue with the participants on Geopolitical and War in Ukraine: The weaponization of economy and food.

On 17 June 2022 organised Socires in conjunction with Global Compact Netherlands a discussion meeting in Pakhuis de Zwijger Amsterdam. Prof. Dr. Jan Peter Balkenende and Prof. Dr. Govert Buijs talked to about 70 young professionals about the report they write about the future of the economy in Europe. At this meeting, the young professionals had an opportunity to provide input for the final version of the report, which should be published in autumn 2022.

14 July 2022 — On 11 July, Professor Wim van de Donk, former Commissioner of the King in North Brabant, and now both Rector Magnificus and Chairman of the Executive Board of Tilburg University, spoke to a group of young people about his social career and the role his personal beliefs played in it.
