With effect from 1 July 2024, René Peters will be the new President of the Supervisory Board of Socires. He succeeds Pieter van Geel, who after seven years says goodbye to Socires. The current Supervisory Board and staff of Socires are pleased to take over Peters.

Socires has a new director. On January 1, 2024, Kees Buitendijk officially took over the stick of Ewald Wermuth. Kees has been with since 2016 Socires On duty. He has been involved in the financial sector, ethics and society programmes in recent years; thinking of new applications of the Rhineland; and trust and social capital in politics and civil society.

28 November 2023 — What is the responsibility of the financial sector and the young professional in combating fraud and terrorist financing, and combating money laundering? These and other questions were addressed at the first meeting of the Young Leaders programme in Finance. After the introductions of the speakers Jelle van Baardewijk (VU) and Willem Schudel (DNB), they spoke to each other and the participants under the direction of Annemarie Wehmeyer (Socires).

Friday December 1st was a special day for Socires: the opening took place of the Para-University of Laudato-Sieb-Institute for Integral Ecology during a festive meeting at the university campus in Nijmegen. This institute was set up on the initiative of Socires and Radboud University. More than 150 people involved and interested from home and abroad had met at the Aula of Radboud University to attend the opening.

Young Leaders in Finance (YLF) is a leadership program for young professionals in the financial sector to further develop in personal and professional leadership. Sub-topics are compliance, professionalism, sustainability and geopolitics. The programme consists of four meetings, starts on 28 November 2023 and lasts for one year.
